Prime-Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze solemnly opened MIA administrative building on Pekini Avenue N46. The event was attended by Tbilisi Major Davit Narmania and representatives of diplomatic corps.
The building was constructed in six months according to the project of architect- Nikoloz Tsulaia. New police building is equipped with latest technic and inventory. In the building Tbilisi Police Main Division, State Security Agency and Security Police units will start operation. The mentioned units were located in different buildings until now. The fact that aforementioned agencies are united in one building, will contribute to making operative activities more effective and amplify providing service to the citizens. The new administrative building is adapted for disabled persons and has special ramps. Police building on the mentioned address was outdated did not comply with construction standards and failed to provided relevant norms for work environment. According to experts Steadiness of the building was decreased by 50-60% and re-construction works were not appropriate, owning to the fact that cost would be equivalent to constructing the new building. Taking into consideration the abovementioned, it was decided to demolish the building in January of 2014 and to build the new one.
