The officers of National Bureau of Interpol of Georgia detained Turkish citizen Ertas Haci Ali (DoB 02.06.1978) at Tbilisi International Airport while crossing the state border. The mentioned person was wanted by Turkish law enforcing agencies. With the aim of his detention and further extradition the mentioned person was wanted under the red notice by Ankara National Central Bureau of Interpol form May 15, 2014.
Ertas Haci Ali is accused under the article of the Criminal Code of Turkey N82/1 which envisages extortion and illegal restriction of freedom to two or more persons. For committing the mentioned crime the detainee may be imprisoned up to 19 years of imprisonment under the Turkish legislation.
At this stage Ertas Haci Ali is detained and transferred to Tbilisi Temporary Detention Isolator, while pre-extradition proceedings are underway.
