In order to ensure safe traffic movement, 6 new speed sections have been added in Tbilisi, Kvemo Kartli region and Rustavi municipality.
1. From 1 Km of Tbilisi, Kvemo Ponitchala- of Marneuli highway, till 3 Km of the same road section (before Levan Gogoberidze street intersection) where the permitted speed limit is up to 7 Km in hour;
2. From 3 Km of Tbilisi, Zemo Ponitchala-Marneuli highway (from Levan Gogoberidze Street intersection) till 1 Km of Marneuli highway where the permitted speed limit is up to 7 Km in hour;
3. From 21st Km. of Rustavi-Tbilisi-“Red Bridge” highway and Niko Lomouri street intersection, till Niko Lomouri Street N1 (Shota Rustaveli Statue venues) where the permitted speed limit is up to 40 Km in hour.;
4. From Rustavi-Niko Lomouri Stree N1 (Shota Rustaveli Statue venues) till 21st Km. of Rustavi-Tbilisi-“Red Bridge” and Niko Lomouri street intersection, where the permitted speed limit is up to 40 Km. in hour;
5. From 21 km Rustavi- Tbilisi-“Red Bridge” highway section till Tbilisi-“Red Bridge” 22nd Km road section, where the permitted speed limit is up to 70 Km. in hour;
6. From 22nd Km of Rustavi-Tbilisi-“Red Bridge” highway section till 21km road section of Tbilisi-“Red Bridge” highway, where the permitted speed limit is 70 km in hour.
In total, 982km long highway will be monitored by the speed sectional control system throughout Georgia.
