As a result of search operations in Oni municipality, rescuers have found two more bodies in the disaster zone. Temur Mghebrishvili, head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, commented to the journalists regarding the ongoing search operations.
"The search and rescue operations are underway intensively. Today, 40 kilometers away from the epicenter of the disaster, the body of a man was detected near the village of Sori. In addition, you’re aware that spot checks are being carried out in the epicenter of the disaster. We’re oriented on approximately 8 hectares of territory, where the body of one more adolescent was found today and also separately, a fragment of a person, the search works are actively progressing at the moment and there are still two people left for whom we are undertaking search and rescue measures. As usual, the bodies will be transferred to Kutaisi Samkharauli forensics facility.
At the moment, we are waiting for the identification of three bodies. In total, 31 bodies were found. We are looking for two bodies" - stated Temur Mghebrishvili.
