Officers of Imereti main Division of Patrol Police Department as a result of investigative activities detained driver- Giorgi I. (DoB 1990) who was involved in the motor vehicle accident that took place on February 6.
Investigation established that on February 6 detainee hit the pedestrian, 19 year old Nana Giglemiani with his truck Gaz-53. The accident took place in Kutaisi, on Aghmashenebeli Avenue. Due to the accident Giglemiani died at the place of crime.
As a result of investigation and number of expertise it was established that no vehicle, other than the truck was involved in the accident. The version of investigation was confirmed by the damages detected on Gaz-53 truck as well as by the testimonies given by the driver and witnesses. The mentioned fact was also confirmed by the results of expertise and video footage of CCTV cameras as well as other evidences.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of Violation of Traffic Safety or Maintenance Rule which caused death, article 276, V part of the Criminal Code.
