At the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, within the framework of the Criminal Justice Reform, was held a meeting with the Police Working Group opened by the Director of the Internal Relations Department – Mr. Shalva Kvinikhidze. He introduced to NGOs representatives an updated Action Plan of the Criminal Justice Reform in the law enforcement field.
To the meeting were invited the representatives of international and local NGOs involved in reform process. The sides discussed activities carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia in the field of personal data protection as well reviewed the Strategy of Reducing Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Dangers. The representatives got familiarized with a report concerning implemented and planned activities by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia in different fields.
The Criminal Justice Reform has been conducted since 2008 with the EU financial support. In the reform implementation process are involved all law enforcement structures, the Office of the Public Defender of Georgia, relevant international and non-governmental organizations. The Working Group of the MIA aims to discuss ongoing reforms and elaborate recommendations in the law enforcement field.
