Police Working Group in the framework of Criminal Justice Reform in Georgia was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs which was opened by the Head of International Relations Department, Shalva Kvinikhidze. The representatives of international organizations as well as local non-governmental organizations involved in police reform process were familiarized with renewed action plan for Police part of Criminal Justice Reform.
The meeting was attended by representatives of international organizations as well as local non-governmental organizations involved in police reform process. During the meeting measures undertaken by the MIA in Data Protection issues, CBRN strategy, as well as future plans and activities implemented in different spheres were discussed.
Criminal Justice Reform is implemented in Georgia with the financial support of the EU since 2008. All law enforcement structures are involved in its implementation along with the Public Defenders’ office as well as international and nongovernmental organizations. The goal of Police Working Group is to review the reform processes in Police and elaborate recommendations.
