Concluding Conference “Cooperation of School, Police and Community for Crime Prevention” of the program Ge CALLS (Georgia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization) was held at Radisson Blue Iveria, on June 24th. GE CALLS program is funded by the US Department of State’s International Bureau of Narcotics and Law-enforcement (INL) and implemented by PH International branch office in Georgia in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. From MoIA the conference was attended by the representatives of International Relations Department, Reforms and Development Agency, Police Academy; as well as employees of Regional Main Divisions and Tbilisi Main Division.
Participants of the conference have discussed the main components of the program: school-based prevention programs, support for community-led prevention programs, strengthening of Mediation and Diversion Program; reviewed the consequences of the program and future plans; talked about the positive and negative aspects of implemented activities and expressed desire to expand the program. Video about the restorative justice was shown at the end of the conference.
The main objective of the program is juvenile crime prevention by raising awareness on juvenile justice and building the confidence among students, teachers and law enforcements.
