Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs along with representatives of EaP member countries and EU member states participated in conference held within the frames of the project “Eastern Partnership cooperation in the fight against irregular migration – supporting the implementation of the Prague Process Action Plan (EaP-SIPPAP)”. The conference was held at “Tbilisi Marriott” hotel.
At the meeting sides reviewed achievements and discussed spheres of future cooperation.
In the mentioned conference high-level representatives from: Georgia, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, EaP member countries and International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) took part.
EU funded project “Eastern Partnership cooperation in the fight against irregular migration – supporting the implementation of the Prague Process Action Plan (EaP-SIPPAP)” is implemented in Georgia since 2013. The project contributes to enhanced strategic and operational cooperation in the field of the fight against illegal migration in eastern partnership region. Project is mainly focused on prevention of illegal migration and elaboration of the coordinated methods of border management.
Within the frames of the mentioned project memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed among training institutions of the EaP member countries and EU member states. Conclusion of the multilateral memorandum was held for the first time with participation of MIA Academy in connection with the mentioned issue.
