The officers of Akhmeta police division of Kakheti Main Regional Division and MIA Emergency Management Department as a result of successful joint rescue operation held in Tusheti, Akhmeta manage to rescued passengers of vehicle which turned over in to the gorge and transported injured individuals in Tbilisi by helicopter owned by Border Police.
Emergency Response Center 112 has received report that “Toyota” type vehicle fell into the gorge in Akhmeta district, Omalo-Dartli highway and several individuals needed immediate assistence.
Ambulance crew could not reach the point by time becouse of the bad road condition therefore employees of Akhmeta Police division managed to transport Bochorma district medic. It was established that two passengers inflicted serious health injuries due to the crash as well as other three individuals had minor health injuries.
Local population and law enforcers took away injured passengers from gorge immediately. They were rendered first medical aid and transported to the hospital in Tbilisi by helicopter.
Investigation is conducted under the article 276 (Violation of Traffic Safety or Maintenance Rule) II part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
