Employees of the Emergency Situations Management Agency, Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department and the Patrol Police Department of the MIA proceeded with the rescue, pumping and cleaning works from the houses and streets flooded as a result of heavy rain and hail in the city of Borjomi throughout the night. The MIA employees evacuated up to 40 civilians from the so called sulfuric bath in the vicinity of Borjomi Central Park; additional police and rescue teams from other cities of Samtskhe-Javakheti region were mobilized to Borjomi. The rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Agency, along with the patrol and criminal police officers operatively responded up to 200 reports.
Cleaning works are underway in a continuous mode in Borjomi Central Park, Borjomi Plateau, Tsaghveri settlement and Sadgeri. Movement in the territory of Borjomi Central Park is restricted for the safety purposes.
Road cleaning works have been conducted in the direction of Borjomi-Tsaghveri and Borjomi-Sadgeri-Tsemi-Lake-Plateau, where high winds uprooted trees and blocked the way.
At this stage the traffic is restored on the roads. Vehicle movement is restricted only to Borjomi-Sadgeri direction, where the active cleaning works for the blocked sections are in progress.
