The Border Policemen from the Border Police Special Aviation Main Office promptly transported seriously ill elder man from the village of Shenako, Akhmeta Region to Telavi.
On January 13 the border police was informed that health condition of 76 year-old Kristo Bukaidze had been deteriorated and the patient needed immediate medical assistance. He was suffering hernia attack. Bad weather and heavy snow made it impossible to transport the patient by a vehicle.
The Border Policemen from the Border Police Special Aviation Main Office flew the patient to the Telavi Civil aerodrome. Kristo Bukaidze was taken to the Telavi Regional Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
