The Border policemen from the MIA Border Police Operative-Investigation Main Office carried out investigation operation and detained a citizen of Georgia, Naziko SH. (DoB 1940) on the charge of breach of customs procedures on the nearby territory of the Sarpi Chekpoint. The investigation established that the detained citizen of Georgia had smuggled the GEL 35 592-worth 510.64 grams of golden jewelry from the Republic of Turkey without official border and customs control.
The MIA Border Police Operative-Investigation Main Office is carrying out investigation on the fact of inflow of precious metal across the customs border of Georgia in the contempt of procedures according to the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 214, Part II.
