Basketball team of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia”MIA Academy” won the title of Champion of Georgia and became the owner of Super Cup. The team became the owner of the Cup for the first time in history. “MIA Academy” confronted “Tbilisi Dinamo” in the struggle for Cup named after legendary player and Coach Otar Korkia and defeated the opponent with the score 84:76. It’s worth noting, that this year “MIA Academy” is one of distinguished team which resulted in the four prestigious titles the team became the owner of.
The title of the best couch of the year went to Kote Tughushi, coach of the “MIA Academy” on the awarding ceremony of the Cup. According to the poll made by National Federation of Basketball of Georgia, the title of the best player of the year went to “MIA Academy” player Giorgi Tsintsadze. It should be noted, that final meeting of Super League in 18-year-old age category, revealed the silver prize category winner, the owner of which became “MIA Academy” team.
“MIA Academy” became the winner of Zurab Sakandelidze-Mikheil Korkia Memorial tournament, became Champion of Georgia on May 26th and won Supper Cup today. It also should be noted, that five members of National team of Georgia play in the team from this year season, whereas the coach assistant of National Team became the coach of the “MIA Academy”.
