Officers of Emergency Situations Management Agency of MIA conducted evacuation of the pupils from Kutaisi 45th Public school during the fire and earthquake simulation. The school has 5-18 years old pupils with special education needs. The mentioned education institution provides boarding school service to pupils with hearing disabilities. Firefighters and rescuers of Emergency Situations Management Agency implemented safe and organized evacuation of 36 pupils and 53 employees of the school according to previously elaborated scenario. The above mentioned training was held in the framework of “Civil Security at Schools” campaign. The representatives of Emergency Situations Management Agency, Ministry of Science and Education, civil society, as well as other interested persons involved in catastrophe risks reduction issues participated in the training. The Campaign aims at preparing children with special education needs and school personnel for the emergency situations, as well as enhancing their theoretical and practical skills for coordinated reaction during incidents.
