Within the frames of the work visit, Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted International Commission for Driver Testing “Cieca” delegation.
Members of the CIECA delegation met Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs –Shalva Khutsishvili and Davit Vardiashvili.
At the meeting Shalva Khutsishvili reviewed reforms and innovative projects implemented by the Service Agency. Sides also discussed issue related to moving the driver test in real time situations in streets.
Within the frames of the visit, members of the delegation went to Service Agency and got acquainted with services on the ground. Along with the director of the agency Nika Gelashvili, experts of International Commission for Driver Testing discussed traffic safety and driver license granting procedures. Members of the delegation shared international and European experience to the Georgian side on driver license issuing mechanisms and reviewed latest methods on the same matter.
CIECA experts also held meetings with representatives of the non-governmental organizations working in the field of traffic safety, where topical issues of the traffic safety were discussed. Foreign experts shared EU experience to the representative of the civil sector. They made special emphasis on the matter related to issuing of the driver license.
“Cieca” is an international organization for driver testing, founded in 1965. Organization is developing traffic movement standards for EU states, provides support and monitoring. MIA Service Agency became the member of CIECA in 2014 and actively cooperates with organization. Agency participates in various seminars and workshops on the regular basis, organized by International Commission for Driver Testing
