In Mestia at the peak Shkhara the polish tourists were timely provided assistance by the rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA.
Emergency Response Center 112 has received report that 2 polish tourists were in need of assistance. One of the tourists fell from the height and had multiple fractures, consequently he could not move.
The team of Mestia Mountain Rescuers Sub-unit of the Special Emergency Situations Response Division of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA promptly arrived to the scene. In order to provide assistance to the tourist the rescuers team of the same Division arrived from Tbilisi. The helicopters of the Border Police were involved in the operation.
Rescuers in the conditions of complex terrain safely evacuated the victim from the height of 3000 meters.
The injured tourist was taken to Gudushauri National Medical Center. Currently the life of a tourist is not in danger.
