MIA rescuers from Emergency Situations Management Agency rendered help to the Georgian citizens in Akhmeta and tramsported 2 injured citizens from Mount Sterozia to the populated area by means of the helicopter.
Operative Response Center 112 received report that group of Georgian citizens was goingt through tourist route on Mount Sterozia and needed help as 2 members got injured.
Akhmeta unit N2 fire-rescuers immediately departed to the place of incident as well as first unit of Telavi Emergency Situations Management Division. In the rescue operation group of rescuers of Special and Emergency Situations Management Division were also involved.
It was established that due to the shortage of food supplies and tiredness injured persons were unable to continue the route. In the rescue operation the Border Police helicopter was also involved.
As a result of operatively held rescue operation and transported injured persons to pankisi settlement from the mountain.
