The World 35th overall championship in mixed wrestling was held In Tbilisi under the aegis of the ACB, with organization of the Georgian Universal Fighting Federation and support of the Security Police Department of the MIA. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of the employee of the MIA, World champion and European champion in mixed wrestling Guram Gugenishvili tragically died two years ago.
The championship along with the Georgian sportsmen was participated by 25 fighters from 8 states. The members of the sport club of MIA competed on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, namely, Nodar Kudukhashvili, Soso Nizharadze, Beno Adamia, Giorgi Lobjanidze and Archil Taziashvili. Nodar Kudukhashvili (84 kg weight category) won Brazilian sportsman. George Lobjanidze (84 kg weight category) defeated Ukrainian contender. Beno Adamia (61 kg weight category) won the fight with the Ukrainian fighter. Soso Nizharadze (66 kg weight category) won Greek sportsman.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs with the purpose of crime prevention and popularization of healthy lifestyle actively supports sports and promotes sport development. Judo Club of MIA - "Fighter" - is the European champion. Also, there are significant successes of the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in car racing, athletics, wrestling and etc.
