The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching activities, detained Gardabani checkpoint customs officer of LEPL Revenue Service under Finance Ministry Shota Bitsadze in Tbilisi for bribery in large quantities.
Investigation established, that Shota Bitsadze while fulfilling his official duties demanded and received 10 000 US dollars from the entrepreneur M.M for commercial information gained by using his official position.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery in large quantities (Article 338, part II, sub-paragraph “B” of the Criminal Code, that envisages form 7 to 11 years of imprisonment.
