A new project has been launched at the MIA Academy, within the framework of which acting and highly-qualified lawyers will give public lectures to the students of the Academy.
Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia Nino Gvenetadze gave the first public lecture to the students of the bachelor’s and master’s programs.
The main topics of the lecture were judicial power and its independence, the Code of Juvenile Justice and the body of jury. The speaker discussed the international principles of juvenile justice and the Juvenile Justice Code of Georgia, which entered into force in January of 2016. Nino Gvenetadze outlined the existing accomplishments, challenges, implemented and planned measures in that field.
The public lecture was delivered in an interactive discussion format.
The project is aimed at motivating students and engaging them actively in the ongoing legislative processes.
