Patrol Police Department won “Integrated Border Management Cup” in mini football which was held at MIA Academy. The second place was earned by Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance while the third and fourth places were won by Border Police and MIA Academy teams. Teams competed according to the Olympic system. Football tournament lasted for two days which was attended by the Deputy Director of the Patrol Police- Giorgi Tchanturia.
“Integrated Border Management Cup” tournament was held with the support of EU. The tournament was organized by the United Nations Development Program in Georgia.
The tournament was held for highlighting activities of the agencies involved in the "Integrated Border Management" project for presenting a coordinated and effective cooperation. Beginning from 2009 EU and UNDP have been assisting the governments of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in the implementation of integrated border management system, adopting relevant legislation, re-training of personnel of the border management agencies and developing proper infrastructure.
"Integrated Border Management Cup" awards ceremony will be held on May 22 at “Muza” culture center, which will be attended by officials of the agencies that participated in the tournament as well as by representatives of EU local office and UNDP.
