Presentation of the new academic project “One Day at the Academy” was held in the MIA Academy. The event was attended by deputy minister of the Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili, deputy minister of Education and Science Lia Gigauri and rector of the MIA Academy Givi Mikanadze.
The MIA Academy implements this new project in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
Within the framework of the project, and with the support of the staff, lecturers and instructors of the MIA Academy, public school students have opportunity to get involved in educational training courses and practical activities in the following fields: First aid, travel documents, criminalistics, imitated shooting ranges, hand-to-hand fighting methods, archival documents of modern history which are preserved in the MIA Archive.
The students of public schools who have registered on the official web-site of the MIA Academy - www.policeacademy.gov.ge will participate in the pilot project.
This program covers the development of both, theoretical knowledge and practical skills. After completion of the training course the pupils will be tested. According to the test results, the winners will be revealed. The first, second and third placeholders will be awarded with prizes along with relevant certificates. All participants will be get certificates for participation in the program and memorable gifts with the symbol of the Academy.
The aim of the project is to popularize the MIA Academy, as well as demonstrate the role of the police and inform pupils on current programs and priorities of the MIA Academy.
