Fourteenth Meeting of State Commission Supporting Suppression of Distributing New Psychoactive Substances was held at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. State Commission meets systematically, at least once a month and conducts constant supervision over the NPS situation in the country.
State Commission unifies relevant agencies, it consists of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Objectives of the meetings are implementing the new legislation on new psychoactive substances in Georgia, facilitating discussion concerning the NPS trends and concerning the proposals to be submitted to the Government, and reacting to relevant challenges by interagency, coordinated efforts.
At the Fourteenth Meeting the Commission Members positively assessed prompt legislative amendments, effective implementation of the legislation, significance of preventive measures, constant monitoring of the situation and interagency coordinated cooperation, overall supporting exercise of balanced drug policy in Georgia.
