The officers of Poti police division of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti police department, as a result of investigative activities, based on the operative information detained G.T. (DoB 1992) L.Sh. (DoB 1993) G.N. (DoB 1995) E.N. (DoB 1995) and T. Ts. (DoB 2000) in Poti for illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms.
During the personal search of the detained law enforcers seized handmade pistol with magazine and 5 bullets, „GOLD STAR-2002“ pistol with magazine and 1 bullet, handmade smooth barreled gun with magazine and one bullet, Makarov pistol with magazine and 2 bullets and „COMBAT-PP“ pistol with magazine and 1 bullets.
Policemen also seized 5 masks, 5pairs of gloves and tape from the vehicle in which detainees moved around the town. The vehicle was operated by E.N.
All of the detainees have already pleaded guilty.
All of the detainees were accused under the article 236, Ii and III parts of the Criminal Code, envisaging illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms. Investigation regarding the mentioned fact is in progress.
