The officers of the division for the fight against Narkc-Transit of Central Criminal Police Department, Ajara regional division of the same Department, Counterintelligence Department and Customs Department of the Ministry of Finances as a result of operative-investigative activities detained Sakhan M. (DoB 1989) and Elmar M. (DoB 1974) at Sarpi border crossing point for illegal purchase, keeping and import of psychotropic substance on the territory of Georgia in especially large quantities.
During the searching activities held by policemen in vehicles of detainees, 19 488 pills of pregabalin containing pills were seized. Detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and import of psychotropic substance on the territory of Georgia in especially large quantities, article 261, IV part, sub-paragraph A and article 263, II part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
