The officers of Samtskhe-Javakheti district inspectors division and Akhalkalaki police division detained 6 citizens of Sri-Lanka: Mutu M. (DoB 1977), Niroshan T. (DoB 1992), Tanabalsingam S. (DoB 1990), Vijitar (DoB 1991), Ligeetaran S. (DoB 1982), Galbokahivaj R. (DoB 1979) for staying in Georgia without any legal basis.
Investigation established that detainees had no travel or ID documents with them and stayed on the territory of the country illegally.
In accordance with the acting legislation detainees were placed at temporary detention isolator in Akhaltsikhe. The case was transferred to the Migration Department for further inquiry.
