Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained one person and established reasons of fire as a result of which three under aged persons were killed.
The officers of Kobuleti police division of Ajara police department as a result of the investigative activities detained Zaza A. (DoB 1966) for violating fire safety rules.
On May 10, 2015 the hotel “Khasana” owned by Zaza A. located in Kobuleti was caught by fire. In the moment of the incident members of “Sikharuli-2” ensemble were accommodated in the hotel including minors among which three died due to the fire. Fire fighters and Kobuleti police officers rescued 45 people, including 30 minors from the flames of the fire. Within the frames of investigation various complex expertise were appointed. Engineering expertise established that construction norms were violated in the mentioned hotel, while Fire-technical examination revealed that the fire was resulted by the electro-technical failure. It is notable that epicenter of the fire was located in the room where minors died.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of violating fire safety rules article 243, III part of the Criminal Code which envisages from 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
