The officers of operative-investigative main division of the Border Police as a result of operative-investigative activities detained the Armenian citizen Eduard E. (DoB 1973) for smuggling gold in especially large quantities though the state border.
During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized gold in especially large quantities. According to expertise the seized gold is 1kg and 297gr the price of which amounts to 93,427 GEL.
Investigation established that smuggled gold by ignoring Georgian customs rules and wiwth the aiam of its further realization in Georgia.
Investigation is in progress under the article 214, II part of the Criminal Code. Investigation is conducted by operative-investigative main division of the Border Police.
