The officers of Kvemo Kartli regional division of Central Criminal Police Department as a result of the searchind investigataive activities detaied lawyer Mikheil M. (DoB 1984) and citizen Shakhvalad Kh. (DoB 1973) were detained in Rustavi for the attempted swindling.
Investigation established that Mikheil M. along with his accomplice promised to his Azerbaijani client’s father to release his son from the custody and in return demanded 60 thousand US dollar. Mikheil M. elaborated the swindling scheme long with his accomplice and held negotiations with his client’s fataher by means of Shakhvalad Kh.
Mikheil M. was detained in Rustavi when he was driving a vehicle with ilegally appropriated cash in it. Law enforcers seized 60 thousand USD as evidence from the vehicle salon. Shakhvalad Kh. was also detained in Mikheil M’s aparatment.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of attempted swindling with a pior consent of the group, article 19-180 II part, sub-paragraph A and B of the Criminal Code.
