The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Main Division along with Central Criminal Police Department, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities held simultaneously in Zugdidi, Poti, Tsalenjikha, Senaki, Gori and Tbilisi, detained 10 persons for membership of the so called thieves’ world. The detainees are: previously convicted for drug crime Giorgi K. (DoB 1987), previously convicted for drug crime and resistance to the police Gela K. (DoB 1969), Lasha Ch. (DoB 1985), Gela G. (DoB 1971), previously convicted for murder under aggravating circumstances, theft and resistance to the police Davit K. (DoB 1986), Vitali B. (DoB 1986), previously convicted for drug crime and theft Giorgi R. (DoB 1989), previously convicted form armed robbery, theft and drug crime Gela Q. (DoB 1972), Avazi U. (DoB 1995) and previously cocnvicted for illegal keeping of firearm and drug crime Tengiz K. (DoB 1979).
In the course of investigation it was established that they admitted to be the members of the so called “Thieves World” and acted in accordance with special rules and “regulations” of the code of criminal world for their own benefit. The mentioned persons deliberately made efforts to stimulate and promote interests of the criminal world in the society.
Investigators have also ascertained that detainees were under the control of the co called “thieve by law” who resides abroad. Detainees received order and fulfilled them from high-rank members of the “Criminal World”.
Investigation is in progress
Investigation is in progress on the fact of membership of the thieves’ world, article 2231 part I of the Criminal Code.
Investigation regarding the case is underway in order to detain others involved in the mentioned crime.
