The officers of Old Tbilisi police and Tbilisi police main division, as a result of investigative activities jointly held on the basis of operative information detained members of organized criminal group: Levan Ch. (DoB 1978) and previously convicted Levan Kh. (DoB 1988) for armed robbery.
Late at night on December 27 offenders attacked “Vissol” gas station located on the left side of Mtkvari River and stole 400 GEL under the pressure of the firearm. After the armed robbery criminals managed to leave the place of crime. On December 28, as a result of immediate operative-searching activities law enforcers detained Levan Ch. in Vashlijvari, while Levan Kh. was arrested on Stela Artua Street in several hours after the crime took place. During searching activities held in Levan Kh’s aparatment, law enforcers seized gloves,masks and two unregistered firearms as evidences. Both of the detainees have already pleaded guilty. Investigation also established that detainees committed several armed robberies in Tbilisi with the assistance of the third person. At this moment operative-searchcing activities are held in order to detain the third person. Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery committed in group, article 179, II part, sub-paragraph B of the Criminal Code. Investigation is conducted by Tbilisi Police Main Division.
