The officers of Kakheti Regional Main Division along with Central Criminal Police Department as a result of joint searching and investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained Koba Z. (DoB 1968) Givi N. (DoB 1968) for plotting armed robbery and illegal purchase and keeping of firearms.
Investigation established that detainees planned to assault encashment vehicles of one of the Banks. They had studied the route and schedule of movement of the encashment vehicle in advance.
During the searching activities held in Givi N’s house law enforcers found disposable gloves, masks and shotgun, which, according to the results of expertise is appropriate for firing.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of preparation of armed robbery by the group with the purpose of appropriating items in large quantities( article 18-179, II part, sub-paragraph B and III part of the same article, sub-paragraph C, also under the article 236, IV part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code. Investigation is conducted by central Criminal Police Department.
