The officers of Khelvachauri Regional Division of Adjara Main Division of MIA as a result of operative-investigative activities detained Merab M. (DoB 1972) in the village Sarpi, Khelvachauri Region, for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.
During the personal search of the detainee the law enforcers seized 12,8096 gr of heroine packed in 50 packages. Drug test of a detainee confirmed the fact of abuse of opium group drug. The accused pleaded guilty.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities (sub clause “a” of the part 6 of the article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
