The officers of Kakheti Regional Main Division, Gurjaani police division, Ajara Regional Main Division as a result of jointly held operative-searching and investigative activities detained Dima Khachiashvili (DoB 1993) for escaping from penitentiary facility of imprisonment.
Investigation established that during conflict detainee inflicted body injuries with a cold steel to Gela K. 9DoB 1969) in Velistsikhe village and fled from the place of crime. As a result of operative-searching activities Gurjaani police officers managed to detain Dima Khachiashvili several hours later. He was sentenced to preliminary detention by the regional court on February 2 for inflicting body injuries with a cold steel. Detainee managed to escape from the court building on the same day. Law enforcers detained him in Batumi, Pushkin Street.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of escaping from penitentiary facility of imprisonment, article 379 of the Criminal Code.
As for the police officers who escorted detainee in the court, investigation is in progress against them on the fact of neglecting official duties, article 342 of the Criminal Code.
