The officers of Central Criminal Police Department first main division along with Ajara Central Criminal Police division as a result of searching and investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained several times convicted in past for drug crime Giorgi M. (DoB 1986) in vicinities of Sarpi border checkpoint for illegal purchase, keeping and transit of drugs in especially large quantities.
During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized 7 pills of subutex drug, hile as a result of searching activities held in the detainee’s vehicle 46 pieces of the same drug were detected which according to expertise contains 1,003 gr of buprenorphine.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and transit of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260 III part, sub-paragraph A and article 262 IV part, sub-paragraph A. the committed crime envisages from 15 to 20 years of imprisonment according to the Criminal Code of Georgia.
