The officers of the Main Division Combating Illegal Circulation of Drugs of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the searching and investigative activities carried out on basis of the operative information detained Davit N. (DoB. 1973) in Tbilisi for drug related crime.
The law enforcers sized 2.54 gr. of marijuana, 35 pills containing 13.7375 gr. of buprenorphine and 2.3030 gr. of methadone in 10 packages. The investigation established that the accused purchased the drugs in Kiev and illegally imported them to Georgia from Armenia.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and illegal import to Georgia of drugs in particularly large quantities (Article 260, part VI, sub-clause “a” and Article 262, part IV, sub-clause “a”).
