The officers of Central Criminal Police Department of MIA as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities simultaneously held in Tbilisi and Gurjaani detained four persons of criminal group for Illicit Entrepreneurial Activity, namely: Avtandil B. (DoB 1990) Giorgi G. (DoB 1989) Zurab B. (DoB 1984) and Vladimer Tch. (DoB 1974).
Investigation established that detainees accepted illegal bets from citizens via mobile phone and internet on the ongoing sport games and football world championship. They received cash or landed over sums according to the game results afterwards. In case in the won sum was not received by the group criminal skirmishes took place.
During the personal search held to detainees law enforcers seized cash received through bets as evidences. Detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of Illicit Entrepreneurial Activity, article 192, II part, sub-paragraph A which envisages from 3 to 5 years of imprisonment.
