Employees of Tbilisi Police Department and General Prosecutor’s Office as a result of jointly held operative-searching and investigative activities detained Irma K. (DoB 1997) Beka Sh. (DoB 1993) Nina Ch. (DoB 1999) for murder committed in group under the aggravating circumstances, whereas Avtandil A. (DoB 1994) and Data K. (DoB 1993) were taken under arrest for non-reporting and concealing the crime.
Investigation established that on October 19, according to previously elaborated plan, which was preceded by an argument and confrontation between mother and her daughter (Luba K. and Irma K) three detainees knocked elderly woman Luba K. (DoB 1940) unconscious with an electric shock device and stabbed with a knife afterwards. Detainees placed Luba K’s body in a large-sized bag and transported to the rental apartment, temporarily owned by Beka Sh. where they disintegrated the corpse. On the same evening, detainees took the disintegrated body to the closed landfill located in Gldani, near to the N8 penitentiary facility, poured previously purchased gasoline over it and set on fire. Offenders threw the body remains in a ditch to conceal the traces of crime.
In the course of investigative activities law enforcers examined the place of murder, apartment where the body had been disintegrated and venue of the burning. As a result, law enforcers seized the most important evidences, interrogated witnesses and conducted a number of expertises, including DNA test; policemen also seized video tapes and etc.
It was established that fragments of body detected and seized by law enforcers belong to Luba K. who was sought by police as a missing person from October 19, 2016 based on the report filed by the family member.
Investigation established that it was a ritual murder.
Two detainees pleaded guilty for committing murder in group under aggravating circumstances, while the third detainee, who is an under aged person, exercised her right to remain silent.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of murder committed in the group under aggravating circumstances, premeditated murder, concealing and non-reporting the crime (articles, 108, 109, II part, 375 and 376 envisaged by the Criminal Code).
