The officers of Main Division for the fight against the Organized Crime under the Cetral Criminal Police Department, Special Cases Division along with Revenue Service, as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities detained the citizen of South African Republic, Nomakhosa Pumla Vinifred N. (DoB 1986) at Tbilisi Internationa Airport while undergoing customs procedures. The mentioned person was detained for smuggling drugs on the territory of Georgia.
It was established by the investigation that detainee had specially arranged cache in Khelvachauri where Georgian law enforcers seized 12 packages of the drug substance. According to the results of expertise the seized drug appeared to be dried marijuana the total weight of which amounted to 9 kg and 700 gr. Detainee arrived in Georgia with Doha-Tbilisi flight.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of smuggling drugs on the territory of Georgia, article 262, part IV, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
