The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police didvision and Tbilisi Police Main Division, as a result of operative- searching and investigative activities held in Kvareli, lentekhi and Tbilisi detained four persons for armed assault that took place on Abashidze Street, Tbilisi, in particular: Mindia G. (DoB 1974) previously convicted for theft and drug crime Baqar M. (DoB 1975), previously convicted for theft and drug crime Mamuka G. (DoB 1967) and Vitali Ch. (DoB 1970).
Investigation established that on August 3 Vitali Ch. who is the relative of the victim’s family and worked as a driver, contacted his friend Mindia G. and suggested to commit an assault on Charqseliani family. He also informed Mindia G. that Charqseliani family kept cash in the apartment in large quantities and jewelry and agreed with mentioned persons to divide the cash and stolen items after the armed robbery.
Mindia G. along with accomplices planned and committed armed robbery. On August 25, they assaulted Charqseliaani family and tied up with a rope the two women who were in the apartment at the moment. Wrongdoers appropriated jewelry and cash under the threats of physical injury and liquidation, namely 100 000 GEL, 30 000 EU and 30 000 USD, plus gold and silver jewelry was stolen by the offenders who managed to flee from the place of crime.
As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities law enforcers detained four persons. During the personal search and searching activities held in their houses jewelry and part of the stolen sum were detected by police, as well as drugs in large quantities containing buprenorphine.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed assault and illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in large quantities (article 179, II part, sub-paragraph B and part III, sub-paragraph B and C as well as article 260m II part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code).
