District police officers and the teachers of civil education subject of schools in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi and Batumi attended joint training on the methodology of “Legal culture” lessons within the frames of the program “Georgia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization (GE CALLS).
The lessons on “Legal culture” are interactive and oriented on crime prevention and was aimed to raise awarness of the students about their rights and responsibilities in areas of rule of law and justice. Teaching the subject “legal culture” to the 9th grade students at the schools are conducted jointly by specially trained law-enforcement officers and school teachers. During the pre-training, participants gained knowledge on social-psychological development stages of the juvenile. The trainings are conducted by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Sciences, experts and the police officers who are experienced in this field and have been involved since the start of the program.
The program is funded by the US Department of State’s International Bureau of Narcotics and Law-enforcement (INL) and implemented by PH International branch office in Georgia in close cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Social Sciences.
