Today seminar on traffic movement and road safety was held under the organization of Embassy of Netherlands in Georgia and non-governmental organizations- “Europe House” and “Partnership for Road Safety”.
Seminar was aimed at establishing ties between representatives of government, experts and interested businessmen, sharing experience and establishing relations with the purpose of improving safety on roads in Georgia. During the seminar issues connected with road safety, as well as traffic movement management were discussed including traffic jams management as well as issue of public transport in towns and on highways.
Second part of the seminar was opened by Deputy Minister Levan Izoria at “Europe House”. Speeches were also delivered by the Ambassador of Netherlands in Georgia Hans Horbach and Professor Fred Vechman. After the opening speeches presentation – “From A to B” was held, dedicated to the issue of traffic safety.
Seminar was held at “Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel” and opening speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of Netherlands Hans Horbach and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Davit Narmania. Afterwards, presentations were introduced to the public by Deputy Minister of Economy Natia Mikeladze, Deputy Chairman of Roads Department Nugzar Gasviani and Dutch expert of infrastructure and road safety Hans Hothelp.
Representatives of Dutch companies operating in the sphere of road safety also discussed other aspects of road safety, importance of following the rules of traffic movement, management issues, system support and mobile measurements system.
