Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili held meeting with the delegation members of NDI (National Democratic Institute) and IRI (International Republican Institute).
The main topic of the meeting was the parliamentary elections and pre-election environment in the country.
During the conversation with guests Deputy Minister stated that it’s important for the government to hold election in peaceful and safe environment, ensuring free expression of will of citizens and political parties in full compliance of the law.
Shalva Khutsishvili acquainted international organization representatives with the current situation in the country before elections and provided comprehensive answers to all questions. At the meeting Deputy Minister also discussed decree by the Minister of Internal Affairs, specially issued to define additional measures of police forces before and during elections and code of conduct. Relevant MIA units are in full readiness in order to ensure democratic pre-election environment.
