Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Merab Malania held meeting with the US delegation, headed by Senator Joe Donnelly. The meeting was attended by Patrol Police Department, Border Police and Special Tasks Department representatives.
Sides summed up results of programs within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia implemented in the scope of cooperation with US Defense and Energy Department
Representatives of the relevant MIA units acquainted guests with CBRN hazards and challenges and response mechanisms across the line of occupation. Participants of the meeting agreed to further enhance cooperation.
American guests were shown special vehicles of Special Tasks Department by means of which it is possible to detect nuclear and radiological hazards across the occupation line.
Within the frames of the visit Senator Joe Donnelly and members of delegation also visited national analytical center which ensures analysis of the radiation portals installed at BCPs of the country. Guests also visited Tbilisi International Airport, Sadakhlo BCP and infrastructure and equipment for detection of CBRN hazards.
