Within the frames of the official visit Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with the director of US Department of Defense and Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Kenneth Myers. At the meeting Giorgi Mgebrishvili noted the importance of the partnership between the two countries. Sides discussed progress achieved as a result of the cooperation and reviewed future plans. Giorgi Mgebrishvili also discussed projects recently conducted at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to him Georgia is one of the successful countries in the fight against chemical, nuclear, radiation and biological threats. Minister made special emphasis on the efforts made by the US Department of Defense and Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in strengthening border security. At the meeting sides agreed on implementation of the joint projects and strengthening of the existing cooperation. “We are always proud with the achievements of the Georgian government and relations with you. Your country is an example in the region in terms of the security and development”-stated director of US Department of Defense and Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). At the end of the meeting Minister of Internal Affairs officially invited Kenneth Myers on the world congress on CBRN treats.
