Within the frames of the official visit to the United States, Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili met the head of Georgia Bureau of Investigation HQ and Crime Laboratory.
Minister had a tour in a laboratory equipped with the latest technology and got familiarized with new methods of crime investigation and prevention.
Annually, from 57000 up to 100000 evidences are studied and up to 5000 DNA tests conducted At the Georgia Bureau of Investigation HQ and Crime Laboratory.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili also visited demining unit and viewed special equipment aimed to be given to the Georgian side from the US.
Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and law enforcement agencies of the state Georgia have a long-term and tight cooperation.
Within the frames of “From Georgia to Georgia” program launched by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) a number of visits and exchange programs were implemented namely in the field of: criminology, forensic sphere, professional development, road safety program, patrolling, management, special arms utilization, public-oriented police and etc.
The program contributes to the development of the professional relations and experience sharing between the two countries.
