Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Merab Malania and director of the Central Criminal Police Department, David Natriashvili, took part in seminar- "bilateral cooperation in the fight against Eurasian transnational organized crime " at the French Embassy organized by in internal security attache.
The seminar was attended by the guests from the French law enforcement agencies who arrived to Tbilis specially for this occasion.
At the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of joint measures against international police cooperation and organized crime, the challenges of terrorism and cyber security and discussed the methods of mutual struggle against transnational crime.
The participants of the seminar also talked about successful international police and legal cooperation between Georgia and France. The Parties shared their experience regarding the fight against organized crime and “thieves in law”.
Within the frames of the visit, the members of the French delegation visited the high-tech and multifunctional joint operations center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. Representatives of the MIA talked about the purpose, and functions of the Center. The guests were introduced to the implemented projects, including one of the largest projects - "Safe City, Safe Region, Safe Country", which implies the creation of video monitoring system across the country and the use of modern technologies in police activities.
Members of the delegation also visited the 1st police station of the Vake-Saburtalo division of the Tbilisi Police Department.
