Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Aleksandre Tchikaidze held meeting with head of European Union Monitoring Mission to Georgia Tovio Klaar. During the meeting Minister underlined the importance of the role of the EU monitoring mission for Georgia, which contributes to maintaining stability and peace.
Aleksandre Tchikaidze stressed the high level of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and European Union. Minister expressed hope to prolong the existing cooperation and increase the number of mandates in the future.
At the meeting sides discussed situation on territories located near the occupation line and latest events that took place in the region as well as recently activated process of installing barbed wires and fences by the Russian occupational forces and put special emphasis on the existence of problems caused by the mentioned actions.
Sides also reviewed prospects for renewing Gali IPRM meetings.
