Employees of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions, detained a citizen of Ukraine - R.P. (DoB 1989) for theft in large quantities.
The committed crime envisions up to 10 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on August 17 of the current year, the accused person made a deposit of 30,900 GEL to his cryptocurrency wallet using a laminated 100 GEL note which he transacted in a crypto machine located on different streets in Tbilisi.
The investigation also established that during the commission of the crime, the accused person was wearing a special mask and gloves so that he could not be identified.
As a result of investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers, R.P. H was arrested few hours after committing the crime. The police completely removed the cryptocurrency obtained by criminal methods, as well as mask and gloves as evidence.
The investigation into the fact of theft in large quantities is ongoing under Article 177, Part IV Sub-paragraph "B" of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
